Because the Arduino (and Basic Stamp) are 5V devices, and most modern sensors, displays, flashcards, and modes are 3.3V-only, many makers find that they need to perform level shifting/conversion to protect the 3.3V device from 5V.

There are some other handy level shifters available in the market, from the DIP 74LVC245 to the fancy bi-directional TXB0108. However, neither of these are happy to work with I2C, which uses a funky pull-up system to transfer data back and forth. This level shifter board combines the ease-of-use of the bi-directional TXB0108 with an I2C-compatible FET design following NXP’s app note.

This breakout has 4 BSS138 FETs with 10K pull-ups. It works down to 1.8V on the low side, and up to 10V on the high side. The 10K’s do make the interface a little more sluggish than using a TXB0108 or 74LVC245 so we suggest checking those out if you need high-speed transfer.

While we designed it for use with I2C, this works as well for  TTL Serial,  slow <2MHz SPI, and any other digital interface both unidirectional and bidirectional. Comes with a fully assembled, and tested PCB with 4 full bidirectional converter lines as well as 2 pieces of 6-pin header you can solder on to plug into a breadboard or perfboard.

      Voltage Adjustment

      The module has a single-turn potentiometer for adjustment of the output voltage.

      Infrared Obstacle Avoidance IR Sensor Module has a pair of infrared transmitting and receiving tubes. When the transmitted light waves are reflected back, the reflected IR waves will be received by the receiver tube.       The SIM800A Quad Band GSM/GPRS Serial Modem has a SIM800A GSM chip and RS232 interface while enables easy connection with the computer or laptop using the USB to Serial connector or to the microcontroller using the RS232 to TTL converter. Once you connect the SIM800A modem using the USB to RS232 connector, you need to find the correct COM port from the Device Manger of the USB to Serial Adapter. Then you can open Putty or any other terminal software and open an connection to that COM port at 9600 baud rate, which is the default baud rate of this modem.

      Once a serial connection is open through the computer or your microcontroller you can start sending the AT commands. When you send AT commands for example: ''ATr'' you should receive back a reply from the SIM800A modem saying ''OK'' or other response depending on the command send.


      Important Note:

      • The SIM800A requires huge power, so use a 12V DC 2 to 3 Amps adapter, any wrong adapter might cause damage also to the modem.
      • On the board there are Tx(D) and Rx(D) pins, near the 5V and GND pins, don''t ever connect anything to them or send any command to them, they are not the TTL pins for serial communication, they are for upgrading the firmware, and if you connect them to the microcontroller or computer, the firmware will get damaged and the module will stop working.
      • Please read carefully the marking on the SIM card tray on how to open or close, those are made of brittle plastics and will break if you put too much pressure on them, so be very gentle and careful while removing or inserting SIM Cards.
      • Don''t tight the antenna too much, the screw threads might get damaged by excessive or over tightening of antenna.
      • Please don''t touch the connections or components and always put the modem on a non conductive base.

      The LM2596 module is an easy-to-use, nonsynchronous, step-down DC-DC converter with a wide input voltage range up to 40 V. The voltage can be varied with the help of potentiometer.       You can use this sensor to monitor rain or slushy snow/hail and send closure requests to electronic shutters, windows, awnings or skylights whenever the rain is detected.

      The working of the rain sensor is pretty straightforward. The sensing pad with a series of exposed copper traces together acts as a variable resistor (just like a potentiometer) whose resistance varies according to the amount of water on its surface.

      This resistance is inversely proportional to the amount of water:

      • More water on the surface means better conductivity and will result in a lower resistance.
      • The less water on the surface means poor conductivity and will result in higher resistance.

      The sensor produces an output voltage according to the resistance, which by measuring we can determine whether it’s raining or not.

      The rain sensor output can be digitized using our LM393 Comparator module and then fed to any microcontroller such as Arduino.

      The comparator module is used to digitize any resistive sensor. The module produces an output voltage according to the resistance of the connected sensor and is made available at Analog Output (AO) pin. The same signal is fed to an LM393 High Precision Comparator to digitize it and is made available at a Digital Output (DO) pin. The module has a built-in potentiometer for sensitivity adjustment of the digital output (DO).
      You can set a threshold by using a potentiometer; So that when the sensor resistance goes low beyond the comparator threshold value, the module will output LOW otherwise HIGH.
